By Jason Apuzzo. I wanted to put up a movie clip today that would capture my feelings about what happened yesterday in Pakistan. The selection of the clip turned out to be an easy one.
Well done, Mr. President, and bravo to the many American heroes who made this historic victory possible.

A brilliant and temperamental actor. I also like the other General he played, General ‘Buck’ Turgidson.
And let’s keep this in mind in regard to our current President and it’s a saying that I feel fits him perfectly in regard to his “command” of this action. “A stopped clock is right twice a day”. Bravo to him for having the guts to approve this action. He DIDN’T plan this action nor did it become more of a priority when he became President (and save me what he said in the 2008 campaign) than it was less of a priority under Bush or even Clinton. (Despite what NBC says, Bin Laden was a priority target before 9/11. (Don’t forget the first Twin Towers bombing, Nigerian Embassy and the Cole)
Oh and talk about an inconvenient truth, the intelligence that lead to the courier that lead to Bin Laden was gleamed through enhanced interrogations at GITMO!
So yes, this President deserves a FULL credit. But so does Clinton and particularly Bush.
The largest credit though goes to the American military.
Amen!
What an amazing, awesomely awesome day.
Well said, johngalt. In particular, it was pretty delicious that info was gathered through enhanced interrogations.
Mr. Bin Laden was definitely a figurehead of global terror, and it’s good for the world to know he’s been dealt with by the U.S. military, but I also think it’s a good time for reflection, and reassessment of the future.
I always like to remind people that the military and intel apparatus nabbed Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, and scores of other al-Qaida operatives. There’s also that little episode of pulling Saddam Hussein out of a spider hole, and putting him on trial (almost like the scene in Iron Man: “He’s all yours.”), which is particularly more relevant considering those new FBI documents just released that say Iraqi agents may’ve had a hand in the Oklahoma City bombing.
Now, there’s that little matter of Ayman al-Zawahiri and the rest of al-Qaida.
And let’s not forget to thank the CIA. Are you paying attention Hollywood?
@Jason:
It would appear Obama has defaulted his foreign policy to George Bush.
I do remember Bammy saying during the campaign in 2008b that we were going to try terrorists in New York City, close Gitmo and pull out of Afghanistan.
Since none of the above has happened, it would appear the Bamster has become George Bush The Third (at least in foreign policy)
Great clip Jason – this one would havr worked too:
